My name is Valette McLay. I was born in Homer, Alaska, lived for 6-plus years in Fairbanks, Alaska but am currently in Anchorage, Alaska. I may never live outside of Alaska.

I am an Aquarius of 1981, my parents' fifth child and first daughter. I am an aunt three times thus far. My younger sister and best friend died in a motorcycle accident in September 2002.

I steal the covers at night. I refuse to take out the trash. I have a dirty mind and I know how to use it.

I am a musician with a talent for piano and percussion and a love for most any musical genre. My car radio is set on the golden oldies station; I know most of the words and often sing along. My iPod collection is eclectic and always growing. My super weakness is the inability to let a jingle or song left unfinished.

I am an amateur photographer. I am concrete sequential. I am a Christian adhering to no denomination. I am not perfect, and I am a sinner, but believe that God loves me anyway. I get a paycheck as an admin-type for a state-wide non-profit.

I prefer sandals to shoes, toe rings to socks. I speak the truth even when it hurts. My personality is red. I talk big and usually believe myself; there are times it is merely an act. I have experienced depression. I have experienced grief. I have cried because of joy.

When sleep deprived I get giggly and drive slow like an old lady.

I do not smoke or drink and prefer to not be around those that do. I question most authority and often do not obey. I do not wish to make the world a better place.

I could not live without the internet.
