schoolhouse rock
any child of the late 70s / early 80s would should remember and love cbs's saturday morning schoolhouse rock. classics such as Conjuncion Junction (whats my function...), Mother Room, and I'm Just a Bill often find themselves playing on the radio in my head.
my all-time favorite? Three Is A Magic Number (mp3). this version by blind melon makes me wonder why the show was ever canceled.

i don't remember having a specific favorite, though i do remember seeing a cd on amazon a few years ago of a bunch of schoolhouse rock songs remade by "contemporary artists". i can only guess that one you have came from that cd. maybe i'll go try to find it again...
