moving

were gonna be moving in the next month.

we were just approved for a nicer apartment than the one were currently in, but we havent yet given 30 days notice to our current landlord.

which means we will be paying for the old apartment through the end of february. so probably paying two rents for just over a month. which isnt cool, but it does give us some time to move... 5 weekends, if im counting right.

things we need to do for the move:

• clean up our possessions. throwing things away. theres always a fine balance between keeping something for its practical use versus its sentimental value. i lean way towards the practical side, b towards the sentimental side. its not a good combination.
  
• box up whatever we dont throw out. we can do this in shifts, so we dont have everything boxed at once.
  
• find a good, great, awesome, working way to completely drain our waterbed. this is very very important. last time we moved, we couldnt get all the water out. the thing still weighed about 200 pounds, and b decided to carry it all by himself. so if anyone has any tips, please do share.
  
• figure out the cheapest way to get the rotting mustang to the dump. perhaps we can rent a tow bar from uhaul? then we need to sell those low tires.
  
• figure out best way to cover up big and nasty screw/nail holes in wall from the 'lets hang these shelves' fiasco.
  
• clean, clean, clean.
  
• enlist help to nove our behemoth of a couch. and maybe the waterbed, too. it will have to be someone who will be able to mentally determine how to get big couch and little doorway to go together.
  
• get phone and electricity switched over. there is a cable hookup available in the new apartment - maybe well finally get a cable modem, though we wouldnt watch the cable tv part of it.
