imminent death

negative six degrees (F) is a whole lot warmer than negative thirty. i like that the decision to wear a coat to go star my car does not involve any thoughts of imminent death.

6 Love Notes

My battery froze on Saturday. Cost me $250 to have the electrical system diagnosed for a stupid frozen battery. Stupid cold weather. I don't live in Fairbanks! I should not be this cold!

geez. if i lived in anchorage, i would never consider getting one of those battery blanket things installed.

That's way too cold for humans. I'd move out of Alaska before you all freeze solid. Fortunatly, your experience makes me feel better about 50 degrees here.

thirty below is actually the norm for a fairbanks winter. usually it sits around 40 below for weeks and brushes 50 below a few times.

It would be just plain ouch if it wasn't just hyper ouch. Way too cold. How do you do it?

It does remind me to order my new winter coat.

we bundle up. coats tested to 50 below, thermal underwear, huge hats and gloves maybe with mittens over the gloves, and lots of layers. also, we only go outside if we have to.
