that would be cool. I guess. I dunno mozilla very well, I've never used it. *shrug*
you should give it a try - its really a pretty small download (if you go with firefox, that is).
Let me make sure I understand: You would like the tooltip that appears when you hover over a link to remain longer before disappearing? Would you like it to remain *longer* (and if so, how long?), or to remain *indefinitely* (until you remove the mouse from the link)?
I've never done a Moz extension, but I'll look into it.
not lengthen the amount of time it is displayed, but the tooltips displayed with the title attribute are truncated at a specified character length.
Hmm, I've never noticed this. So, then, it fails to wrap and create multiple lines like IE does? (I'm at work, can't test ATM.)
right. just truncates.
Technically, that should be logged into Bugzilla rather than addressing it as an extension. I'll look into it tonight. I do have a very nice book on understanding and modifying the Mozilla source code, but it's rather old, and I'm not suer how much is still relevant.
from what i remember reading, it isnt really a 'bug' since title attributes are supposed to be short and concise (80 characters... which might be where its cutting off). i know that people should use longdesc instead of title for really long descriptions, but i cant control how other people do it. yet i still want to read the whole thing. which is why i want it as a
... extension.
heh.
I have created a patch (though based on someone else's patch file). Instructions/download:

you are so awesome, maker! while the tooltip doesn not display the new lines like the example test page believes it should, i can now read all of the tip. thank you!
now where did i put those marashinos...
