to the sea
which reminds me.
im going to homer this weekend to goof off with my brother and offer up emotional support by way of licorice ropes, glacier milkshakes, jumping in the ocean, and illegal activity.
im driving with the dog and a stolen cell phone from work.
i will drive from fairbanks to homer on friday with stops only to empty bladders, fill tummies, and fill gas tanks. a lovely 10 hours of driving (alone) never hurt anybody, right?
at least the trip back north will be broken up with a night spent at my brothers in anchorage.
im getting to be a pro at this driving alone thing.

So, since I'm a little slow: was the stolen cell phone the illegal activity?
i should hope there will be much more to come.
do tell...
There will be cops waiting up and down the highway for you now, waiting to nab you with that stolen cell phone.
And I can't find the licorice ropes. I'm hoping you know some dealers.
WHAT!?
does wagon wheel not have any anymore?
Good god, I thought you could buy those at any 7-11...unless you're talking about something a good deal larger than I'm picturing (the ones I know are more of a "baling twine" than a "rope"). But then, you could always buy three or four and braid them into a sort of rope, couldn't you?
Of course, in keeping with the spirit of the occasion, the proper thing would be to *steal* three or four...
The Wagon Wheel only had black licorice in pre-packaged plastic wrap.
maker, you are brilliant! the ropes of which i speak are probably a half inch in diameter, and heaven in my mouth. you can get the blah twizzler-like strings at the store, but they are not the licorice of my childhood.
the wagon wheel only had black? i remember they had started coming individually wrapped, but they dont have the red ones? what about grape? i dont know if i can come down if i cant get me some grape licorice.
