Dreaming of a White Ice Fog

  • Forty below zero is the same temperature in Fahrenheit as it is in Celcius.
  • It doesn't snow around -40° or less.
  • Temperatures colder than -30°F result in ice fog.
  • Ice fog: shiny ice particles formed when water vapor meets bitter cold air that can't hold any more water.
  • -30°F is the magic temperature: getting above that after a stretch of colder temperatures is like a heat wave.
I'm going to do what I can to get some pictures today at lunch; hopefully it won't warm up before then. And hopefully my camera can handle it.
