I bought a new lens Friday night and walked around Anchorage for an hour today with it. I am in love.
I am always in need of dress pants, because dress pants are nearly impossible to fit properly. If they fit in the waist they don't fit in the thighs, and if they fit in the waist, hips AND thighs then they are way too short.
It's a neverending source of woe that brings me to my favorite consignment shops on a regular basis. Like two weeks ago when I popped in during one of my infrequent breaks from the office. Skirts are more likely to fit better than pants, and so I own more skirts than pants. I'm okay with this. So after I browsed the dress pants rack, I then looked over the skirt rack, like I always do.
This black flippy thing jumped out at me. I tried it on and had to twirl in the dressing room. It was perfect. I couldn't leave it. It just needed the right pair of tights.
Donovan has been on his high school swim and dive team this year, and it's been a lot of fun going to the Friday afternoon meets. I'm amazed at the different levels of pool and spectator-area quality between the city's different high schools. Some schools had meager sitting areas for parents, and some had full pull-out bleachers, but they were all muggy.
I am super proud of the progress Donovan made in his swimming form over the course of the season. It was fantastic watching him grow as an athlete and a team member. Here he is at his last heat, swimming the 50m, in lane #5.
