When I was in Juneau earlier this month the weather was sunny and hot and much too nice to spend evenings inside. I headed out toward Mendenhall Lake and hiked along the West Glacier Trail that started in the rain forest by the lake and ended with gorgeous views of the Mendenhall Glacier.

Even though splashing in the water is Mitzi's favorite thing ever, she isn't a big fan of swimming. But she's also very obedient, even when she doesn't understand why she's being ordered into the pits of hell.
Olive has her own thoughts on the topic of swimming, which can be summed up with Hell No I Will Cut You.
The gentlemen of the household enjoy all of the angst and woe, and insist the water is fine, come on in.

Two years ago I married my best friend, and I realize I never shared any of the fabulous photos from the day (courtesy Jamie Lang Photography).
Going back through the images I'm struck with how much FUN the day was, and how in love I am with my husband. I'm all ready to plan a vow renewal immediately, but Steve thinks we should wait until 10 years or so. I just want an excuse to dress up again and party with our friends.
Because dear God, I love that dress on me so much; why have I not dyed it a fun robin's egg blue yet and worn it to ALL OF THE THINGS?

Damon and I took a little day road trip north of San Francisco to do some photo exploration. We wandered around Mare Island and did some climbing around on old rusted equipment. Then we popped over to the Marin Headlands to see a tunnel that was closed for construction, and a couple of old abandoned bunkers.
It was a very fun day of exploration, getting lost and re-lost, willfully not noticing all of the NO TRESPASSING signs, and dehydration.
